Platforms
Ansi - Plain text document with extended ASCII controls also known as IBM code page 437.
Dos - MS-DOS aka Microsoft Disk Operating System or compatible application for x86 CPUs.
Image - Raster computer graphic.
Mark-up Language - Machine readable text document such as HTML or XML.
Package - A compressed or storage file archive such as a ZIP file.
Pdf - Portable Document Format that was originally created by Adobe for their Acrobat software.
Text - Plain text document.
Video - A video file.
Windows - Microsoft Windows application for x86/x64 CPUs.

Announcements - Public announcements by scene organisations.
Apple II - Files related to the early 1980s Apple II microcomputer scene.
Atari ST - Files related to the late 1980s Atari ST personal computer scene.
Bulletin Board System - - Art and programs used in the creation, running or the promotion of BBS sites that were used in the scene for communication and file sharing.
Commodore Amiga - Files related to the late 1980s Amiga personal computer scene.
File Pack - A collection of related files stored together in an archive.
File Transfer System - Art and programs used in the creation, running or the promotion of FTP sites that were used in the scene for file sharing.
Job Application - Documents used by organisations for new member applicants.
Guide - Walkthroughs and guides to the structure, usage and politics of the scene.
Internal Document - Documents used by scene organisations for internal management that were not intended to be public.
Interview - A conversation between two or more people on the scene.
Logo - An image used for the promotion of a scene organisation.
Magazine - Scene reports and articles that have been created by participants.
News Media - Mainstream media reports on the scene.
Politics - Used for anything scene-political that doesn't fall into the other categories but usually contains documents where people or organisations are complaining.
Programming Tool - Historical computer programs once used in the scene for the creation of self promotional programs such as intros.
Promotion - Animated files that were used for promotion. These would include promotional videos, intros, bbs-intros, crack-tros and ftp-intros.
File Information - Text documents used to describe a scene product or release. These files are commonly referred to as NFOs.
Program Install - Often cracking titles required the butchering of the original software. To simplify the installation process for end-users some organisations would include customised installation programs.
Scene Rules - In past years different organisations in the scene have banded together to agree to codes of conduct, these are those public agreements.
Takedown - Firsthand accounts and documents on the arrests, busts, or take downs of any individual or organisation.
