Inquisition started out in 1995 as the 2nd volume of the earlier publication The Week In Warez. The newsletter slowly evolved into its own but ended after 11 issues when it was realised that no one had the time to continue to work on it.

Inquisition was the last regularly produced publication within the scene where the management were also considered prominent scene participants. While this membership gave Inquisition the unwanted notoriety of being bias, subsequent scene publications were often produced by scene outsiders.
