Websites listed in our Retro Web portal generally relate to online historical documents. This will mean archives or collections of old text files which used to be the mainstay of written online documentation prior to the internet. You will also discover historical collections of World Wide Web pages which generally superseded text files. In addition websites pertaining to redundant Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) will be found here as they were the primary means communication and distribution of text files for those who did not have access to the Internet.

The focus is on mid-1980's textfiles and the world as it was then, but even these files are sometime retooled 1960s and 1970s works, and offshoots of this culture exist to this day.
